Little Loom Weaving Review

Little Loom Weaving: Quick and Clever Projects for Creating Adorable Stuff by Andreia Gomes is a 111 page Paperback released on May 9 2017 by Publisher: Ulysses Press. This charming book introduces a trending craft – little loom weaving. Self-taught, portable loom weaver Andreia shares what she's learned on her journey from homemade, cardboard loom maker to artisanal hand weaver and founder of the LOOP Weaving Co. It's a modern take on an ancient craft. Wikipedia says "Weaving is a method of textile production in which two distinct sets of yarns or threads are interlaced at right angles to form a fabric or cloth." Andreia shows what's needed to start weaving without too much of an investment– a simple loom, some yarn and this book. She covers tools and materials, then yarns and techniques. The first project is how to make a basic loom from a 30" x 40" wooden canvas frame. It's followed by a variety of diverse though uncomplicated weaving projects using a small, portable loom, a frame loom, a branch, a piece of drift wood, a circular loom and a hanging planter. Andreia guides you step-by-step through the process of making 14 gorgeous hand woven pieces. Difficulty ratings of 1 thru 5 accompany each project. Her work is inspirational. I love this book. It makes me want to take up weaving. Get your copy below!

  9. I've only had a very small loom when I was younger, to made a bracelet with beads. I like that you can select any colors you want. Great that this book shows you how to make your own loom since they look pretty simply put together.
