A square origami box with a lid. The design from Origami Boxes by Tomoko Fuse requires 8 square pieces of paper, 4 for the top and 4 for the bottom. I used 15 x 15cm rice paper with a simple red and white pattern. The finished box measures 8.5 x 8.5 with a depth of 4.5cm. There's a pattern on the inside of the box. This type of folding is also known as unit or modular origami. No scissors, glue or tape used!
Really neat and tidy box
ReplyDeleteThis is a charming little box. It would be memorable for small and special gifts.

This would be great as a button box. Sorted by colour, a sample button could be attached to the top to identify the colour inside. Depending on the type of button, it might be used as a handle to open the box.
