Friend Jeanette, her daughter Randi and I went blueberry picking. The bushes were bursting with ripe berries. All 3 of us sampled more than a few! I'm going to preserve some of the delicious berries.
My recipe, put clean blueberries in a pot on the stove, gently bring to a boil (lid on), add sugar to taste, simmer til desired consistency (lid off). Fill sterilized canning jars, leave about 1/2 cm space at top, cover with sterilized lids and rings, tighten, turn upside down on counter overnight.
I've been eating mine with homemade cheesecake and also in plain balkan style yogurt, divine! If you want your blueberries to 'set', add a little very finely grated apple, when you add the sugar.
